Managing Director

Sheri “Bernie” Borges joined OnQ Performing Arts as Managing Director in the fall of 2014, and has taken a strong leadership role at Charlotte’s premier African American theater production organization. Prior to joining OnQ, Sheri spent over ten years as an executive in IBM’s marketing division. As a Project/Marketing Manager, she has; developed, structured, implemented and executed marketing campaigns in the areas of: Retail, Wholesale, Gaming & Entertainment, Industrial, Chemicals & Petroleum, Electronics, Aerospace & Defense. Generating win revenue as high as $150 Million while managing, simultaneous, budgets of up to $5 Million. Sheri is currently the Database Marketing Program Manager for IRA accounts at TIAA-CREF Financial Services.

The daughter of a Jazz musician, and with a substantial family history in the arts, Sheri humbles herself as a 'novice' despite being a published poet, ghost writer & composer and instrumentalist, now developing her skills in the visual craft.Sheri brings her extensive career experience in the Arts, Business, Finance, Retail Management, Planning, Compliance and Sustainability to bear in her role as Managing Director to ensure OnQ Performing Arts remains not only the premier African American theater production organization in Charlotte, North Carolina but to also bring OnQ’s mission to the nation and the world.
